The Groundskeeper promotes within the company for Vice President of Construction
The newest face at the corporate office in Tucson is a familiar one. Paul Mueller, who has been with The Groundskeeper (TGK) for more than 10 years, was recently promoted to Vice President of Construction. Mueller started with TGK in 2000 as construction estimator for the Southern Arizona region. In 2003 he was promoted to senior estimator for TGK in the state of Arizona, and in 2004 became Southern Arizona’s construction division manager. With the help of TGK’s tuition reimbursement program, in 2008 Paul earned an MBA from the University of Arizona and membership in Beta Gamma Sigma, the international honor society for business schools. Since then he has spearheaded the rapidly-growing construction divisions for TGK in New Mexico (2008) and for Greater Texas Landscapes in the Austin/San Antonio area (2010).
Mueller’s expanded role includes oversight of the corporation’s commercial installation work in several states, which means he’s frequently on the road. When asked about all the travel, Mueller says, ”It’s made much easier by the great people I get to work alongside in every construction market in which we compete. It may seem a cliché, but we really do have the best people in the business.” Mueller’s focus this year includes improving safety processes and training for field personnel, and increasing his teams’ abilities to produce profitable, high-quality work in a low-budget sales environment.
